The frame that started it all. With the original Kinesis Decade Tripster ATR back in 2012, we were an early mover in the trend towards a more capable, adventure focussed, drop barred off road bike and it quickly became one of the most popular framesets we’ve ever produced. Our award winning frameset has been revised again and now features a new dedicated custom fork, revised geometry to improve fit and ride across all the sizes, and a whole load of new features.
We are now producing the Tripster ATR in the same facility that is building our GTD frameset. This is one of the World’s leading titanium frame builder in Taiwan and their experience is reflected in the quality of the welds and beautiful forming of the tube sets. With a flattened top tube for easy mounting of top tube bags, flattened rear stays for compliance and over-sized down tube for increased rigidity when fully loaded. The new down tube also features coloured laser etching graphics.
The new Tripster ATR features our Kinesis Rider Fit Geometry, meaning all sizes from the smallest to the largest will handle in the same way. Geometry throughout the sizes has been based around stack and reach ensuring that there is a frame that fits everyone. The 2 smallest sizes now have semi-sloping top tubes combined with shorter stems lengths, combating the occasional toe overlap issue a small minority of people experienced. The sloping top tubes also bring the smaller sizes comfort in-line with the larger models i.e. more seat post extension adds comfort in the saddle. It also increases stand over clearance for those with shorter legs that struggle with squarer/traditional frames.
The new Tripster ATR will come supplied with our new Kinesis Range adventure fork. This fork has 3-point cargo mounts on each leg, masses of tyre clearance and internal hose routing.
As with our premium titanium GTD frameset, we have partnered with GW engineering and we are supplying the new Tripster ATR with their patented ‘Switch Lever’ hollow Thru Axles with a removable lever.
